I finally figured out what I am going to do for Logan's b-day cake. It will be banana with a chocolate ganache frosting. I have managed to make this sugar free and yummy. If anyone wants the reipe let me know. It's super yummy! It's not beautiful but I will make it prettier on the actual day. Those are sauteed bananas on top and walnuts on the side. I have not decided if I am going to keep those for the party. I get crap from alot of friends for being a bit of a sugar nazi but I just think at this age there is really no point in loading him with sugar. We know it's bad for him and he doesn't know the difference. He will be just as happy with this organic, sugar free cake as he would some publix cake with dyes and artificial flavors. So there you go Logan's 1st birthday cake! =)

ReplyDeleteHey Carly!!! Ricki told me about your blog, so here I am. Aren't blogs awesome?? Such a great way to get in touch. Anyway, your baby is so handsome!! Totally looks like you. Fun cake! Don't worry about what anybody else says. You're the momma, you know your baby, and you know when you want to introduce different foods to him. My husband (Josiah) slipped in a couple of sips of milkshake, etc., but before that, our little girl, Georgie, didn't have any sugar until her first birthday. We really limit it still and she's super healthy and happy!
