Logan is one

Logan turned one last Saturday we had a Curious George party and it was alot of fun. Logan got alot of presents but we are only going to give him one at a time. So he can enjoy them and not get overwhelmed by a bunch of toys. I made an organic banana cake with a chocolate ganache frosting which he thoroughly enjoyed. He loved being sang to and he was great at opening presents!

Loving his ball tent!

Yummy!
All done opening tons of presents!

Uncle Chase and Logan on Clearwater Beach!

Well we had a great week with Uncle Chase and Logan had a great Birthday! We also went to Sea World and we just got finished trick or treating tonight, so I will have to post all of that good stuff sometime this week!

We lost Grandpa Shanks last Saturday, I'm so happy he was able to meet Logan a few times and that I have pictures of them. I'm going to miss him but I am happy he is at peace.

I love this photo of Granny and Grandpa looking at little 2 month old Logan.

8 1/2 month old Logan with Uncle Chase visiting with Grandpa.

Grandpa really liked Logan and Granny says that Logan had Grandpa's mouth. He lives on through all of us....I love that.

Birthday party and a beautiful day at the beach

So we had a great weekend. Logan went to his first birthday party (of a friend). It was actually for two of his friends both turning one. He had a blast, played in a ball tent, ate a tiny bit of ice cream, drank juice, and minngled with friends (Ok the last part is what I did but still he had fun.)

He was pretty good about wearing the little hat.

With his friend Willow and done with the hat.

This is Logan and his friend Hayden the birthday boy!

Then on Sunday Grandpa Jamie, Logan and I spent the morning at the beach, it was beautiful! Logan's favorite part was chasing the birds...well crawling after the birds. He is refusing to walk but he gets where he wants to go.

Never caught one but sure came close!

Cheers to another great weekend and many more to come!

Daddy is home and Halloween is coming!

So Adam has been in fl. on his tour for the past three days. He basically sleeps at home and then leaves early for the show and comes home very late. But we got an hour here and there together! Logan was very excited to be with daddy and loved playing with him.

First time seeing Daddy in 3 weeks!

Still knows who he is!

Got your nose..

He did this until his little nose was raw.

This is a bad hair day for my firzzy honey (Adam).

Playing with our elmo drum with daddy.

Doing his monkey crawl to Daddy.

We loved seeing him and he is doing great on tour. Playing to sold out shows almost every night , they are really building a huge fan base. I got to go to their show last and it was amazing, they just keep getting better and better. And my husband is such a talented artist, it really amazes me how talented he is. Hopefully he passes those traits down to Logan.

Well, I have really been getting into Halloween coming. Especially because Logan will turn one the week before and he will actually get to enjoy it. So I have been doing little artsy things having to do with Halloween for the boys.

This little food project is very easy and fun. You just take an orange and take the insides out like a pumkin then carve a little face like you would a pumkin and then you can fill it with fruit salad for them to eat of. It's very cute and easy. Ryder really enjoyed it, Logan didn't really care..he just ate the peel. I think I liked it the best. Anyway if anyone knows of other cute things like this please let me know. I am always up for little projects or food ideas! =)

Our Pirate Park and cake

It has been beautiful out so we have made a trip to our "Pirate Park" almost every day this week. It is right on the water and the play gyms are shaped like ships, hence pirate park. Logan and Ryder love it!

"Cheerios anyone?"

Ryder being so sweet and helping push "baby" as he likes to say.

I finally figured out what I am going to do for Logan's b-day cake. It will be banana with a chocolate ganache frosting. I have managed to make this sugar free and yummy. If anyone wants the reipe let me know. It's super yummy! It's not beautiful but I will make it prettier on the actual day. Those are sauteed bananas on top and walnuts on the side. I have not decided if I am going to keep those for the party. I get crap from alot of friends for being a bit of a sugar nazi but I just think at this age there is really no point in loading him with sugar. We know it's bad for him and he doesn't know the difference. He will be just as happy with this organic, sugar free cake as he would some publix cake with dyes and artificial flavors. So there you go Logan's 1st birthday cake! =)

Hello my favorite season...

I am so happy it is fall and that winter is coming! In Fl. it's a big deal, we live in a sauna all year and feeling that cool crisp 77 air...well it makes me want to put on boats and a peacoat.

In celebration of my love for cooler weather and I am of course crazy for the upcoming holidays! ( I decorate the house the first day of the month in which the holiday is in.) So I whipped all of Logans halloween clothes and pjs out! We also have been reading a fav of mine, "This Halloween". The little boy in it looks kind of like Logan to me. It's a very cute book. So here are some photos of Logan in his Halloween pj's doing our nightly routine of dinner, bath, little play, books and then bed. Here we are at the play...

Our favorite game right now is peek-a-boo..

Sometimes well you can see.. this is him also playing peek-a-boo
